When I hear stories like this, it makes me relieved that teenagers are frequently so stupid or impulsive that when they commit crimes they immediately start telling everyone about it. It would be better if kids like this weren't stupid or disturbed in the first place and never committed these crimes, but at least when they are committed by teens like this, they are identified and caught quickly. I'm not very far into the episode, so if there's some surprise twist where they didn't actually do it, then go easy on me.

What sick, sick children. This reminds me of a murder that happened a town over from me. A teen (17 at the time I think) had his three friends help him bludgeon his parents to death with baseball bats. The disregard for human life by some people is truly shocking.

Very shocking and sad for the victims.... and also the boys parents.

Sidebar - Cap'n, your little call out to parents who are homeschooling actually meant a lot! I'm sitting here working and listening to Part 2 while street work is being done outside my window and I'm trying to get my twin ten-year-olds to focus on their work and get items turned in on time. Heading up to school in a sec to grab more work for the kiddos and getting my early voting on. VOTE FOLKS!

TCG- something must have been up with stitcher when I listened to it yesterday, or maybe the episode hadn't fully finished uploading or something, because it's working perfectly for me now. Sorry about that.

What I don't get, is what prompted those kids to do something like that? I don't know, was it out of bordem? Something fun to do? Stealing the jewelry for drug money?

This is the definition of "Thrill Kill" so incredibly pointless, cold, and evil! Nic

Great episode, as usual. What total pieces of shit these kids are. I have a theory: I think murder was the real purpose behind their little escapade and burglary was only an excuse. I think it's summed up best by the one kid who says something like he's always had an urge to kill and this was a great opportunity. I also wonder what their neighbors, in the house they intended to "hit", thought when they heard that they had dodged that bullet! Can you imagine?? I wonder how Jamie is... what a brave girl and the hero of the story!

Hi Debby - you are so right and the Captain was too maybe these guys deserve a little "special" punishment. From my understanding Jamie is awesome - of course, this nightmare will have lasting effects and pertinent damage mentally and emotionally. Plus the loss of a parent is heartbreaking regardless of the situation but all things considered Jamie - in college and doing well. So is so brave and such a strong individual. I'm sure she is an inspiration to her friends, family, and schoolmates. I wish her the very, very best! Cheers Nic

How badass is Jaimie!!!! Played dead, dragged herself to the phone! Her strength and heroism at such a young age was incredible. A sickening crime happened to her family, but how awesome is she.

These are the scariest type of episodes. Broken machines that exist just to randomly murder innocent people. No why to it, they just do it. Not sure we will ever see an end to it, in fact, we won't. Try to identify them when they are young and create legislation to take steps to track them and secure them.

You guys kicked ass on this one. You were extremely exact on details.... I live in the town over - about a 5 minute ride and my parents lived up the road from this area.....and let me tell you that this horrified everyone. I couldn't help by cry again for both Kimberly and Jaimie hearing this all again. It feels like yesterday and my heart still goes out to them and their family. I am so glad those POS got caught. What a bunch of losers. and to think it all just happened on a joy ride. Thanks for all you guys do, love the show!
