  • Hey Nic - were you eating while recording this episode? ? LOL! I think she should have some repercussions for this - I agree with what you said that she should have been an adult if she wanted out or needed a break. This was not the way. Love that you guys do these updates on cases - keep up the good work!

I’d like to know the investigative timeline…. Not papini’s. It would likely show they never believed a word she said.

@ The Blank - yes I was eating cantaloup. We take breaks between recordings. So often there is a break right before hitting record on OTR. Sometimes we record OTR remotely and I think if you listen closely you can tell when that is the case. This one we recorded in the Garage. So I pack a lunch on those days. Usually I wait for him to get back from break as he takes longer than I. Well he was fast on this day and I didn't finish my fruit snack. So it was sitting there right in front of me while recording and I was starving. So Captain started talking and I thought I could sneak in a bite. I swear he stopped talking just because my mouth was full. Cheers Nic

My biggest question at this point is who or what gave her all the injuries reported? Was the ex in on it & beat her up? Did she do all the injuries to herself?? I have not heard that addressed anywhere.

I'm glad to see movement in this case. I never bought her hokey story. What an absolute turd this woman is! She starts by doing something shitty, then drags everyone who cares about her into it, plus the public, not caring what effect any of this will have on anyone. Drags everyone down with her and then, for good measure, decides to misappropriate money from a fund for actual victims and money people gave from the goodness of their hearts. Not to mention (a good point you guys brought up) the absolute waste of time and resources on the part of the police. It just gets worse and worse. I feel just awful for her poor husband and children.

When I first listened to this 2 part episode back in 2019 I was left feeling uneasy like it was a hoax. But i wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt because I did not want to victim blame. It turned out to be a lie. She gave us a Vince Russo WCW swerve. It was a swerve. I think she took inspiration from the Tera Smith 1998 kidnapping which was real...if anything good came from this-it would be that the police re-opened the Tera Smith case. Back to Sherri. I don't think she will be convicted. I am predicting some kind of plea deal.

Her husband and kids.....omg the embarrassment!! Why wouldn't you just say I need a break, I want out? I think restitution to the police department and the GoFundMe should be priority one for this little attention hound. If she really needs a break, put her in jail for a couple of years with no visitors. At least it would be a real punishment.

I can't imagine getting into he head space of thinking this is the right answer to the problem. Look at all the trauma this caused, her husband, her kids, her family, then the terrible effects it had on the boyfriend, friends that she told.... it's insane. This wasn't even a reaction to a crime, she manufactured the entire crime, a crime that will have lasting effects for everyone involved. I can understand getting in deep and not wanting to deal with the fall out but thinking I'll fake my kidnapping and all of this will go away is much, much worse. When I hear things like this I can't help but feel sick over it, about the complete destruction of life as they knew it. It's freaking sad. Then there's the whole misdirection of law enforcement, community and resources, dividing valuable time, effort and funds from serious, legit, crimes against real, live innocent people.... I don't hate this woman but there are no other options, she has to pay for the seriousness of this stupid decision. It's sad, the whole thing.
