Whelp. I came here to try and see if anyone else was having problems listening to this episode, but I see the website has changed too. Might just be a server change issue or something but I figured I'd let you guys know in case I'm not the only one. Lots of stops while trying to load and my app (Pocket Casts on Android) won't let me download it to mitigate that. Not happening with other podcasts. By the way... super psyched you guys have a 4 parter for this because I'm pretty sure this is the first case covered on a podcast that I've never heard of in my life. I'm weirdly excited. Also, more vlogs, please?

I had never heard of this case and listened to Part 1 on my ride in to work today. I usually do a cursory google image search when you guys start one of your cases just so that I can put a name with a face. When I googled Don Henry and Kevin Ives and pictures of Bill and Hillary Clinton came up , I knew we were in for something really interesting. You DID say that it got pretty wild and crazy.

I am SO freaking excited your series on this case! I've been dumbfounded by it since I first saw it on Unsolved Mysteries years ago. Thank you so much for covering it and all the other cases as well. I love your show and I "Love your Jib."

I'm stuck at 19min into episode 1. This is one hell of a story so far. I'm a defense lawyer and have my own personal "greatest story of all time" true crime story. I'd be willing to share my file with you if you'd be interested in covering it.

Hey guys, First, LOVE the show! You guys are great even if you choose the wrong word or get a little heated sometimes! It's part of what makes you great, don't let anyone tell you different. Second, weirdly for these last two episode downloads somehow the iPhone regular podcast app keeps pulling all the episodes from as far back as the Green River Killer.... and believe me I've already listened to them all ;) ... down to my phone each morning. Never had that trouble before. Hoping it's just my old phone and it's not a problem for anyone else, but figured you'd want to know. Dare I say keep up the good work? Thanks.

True Crime Garage Thanks, can't wait! I was a kid in Arkansas when this happened and my best friend since childhood lived a few blocks from where the boys were found. He and his friends used to hop the trains right in that area and ride them to Little Rock and back. We've always been fascinated by this case and thought we'd heard everything there was to hear about it, but in episode two you talked about some things neither of us had ever heard. Great Job so far!

I'm glad you guys are covering this case! It's unbelievable that this incident isn't a bigger issue! I first heard about this on Unsolved Mysteries (check it out on Hulu) and I just HOPE you guys are going to cover the strange guy in camp that was seen within a block or so of where the boys ended up dying. Just two weeks prior to the boys being killed a local police officer at 2 am seen a suspicious man in a camo jacket walking near the tracks and when the officer stepped out of his patrol car to check up on this guy he immediately turns around pulls out a gun and fires two or three shots at the officer. When the officer ducked for cover the man was able to run off and after a lengthy search he wasn't found that night. But he was seen again by many of the local residents... VERY strange! Plus don't forget about the other boy that was killed a year before this and again dumped on the tracks (exact same circumstances) and had been run over by a train. This case happened about 800 miles or so north of where these boys were killed however though, so it's tough to make a connection but this boy was also covered with a tarp and thought to have committed suicide by having the train run over him...

I really like you guys a lot and recommend this podcast to friends all the time. You are free to say what you want of course. However, the hammering on Clinton was overdone in my opinion. I get it but now we have all the anti-Clinton people all over it and the podcast, comments, etc. have turned this too political. I understand what happened was super shady but I do not see how that means Clinton was absolutely involved in any illegal activity. Maybe he just didn't do what he was supposed to here. The problem is now I feel the need to argue politics in the one forum I thought was safe. Again, free to say what you want but I have to say this was the first episode where I was not impressed with your discussion.

I have to respectfully disagree with the captain on the Podesta pizza gate stuff. There is no evidence to back any of this up outside of the deranged rambling of Alex Jones and racist 4chan alt Right message boards. Conspiracy theories like this cause people like Edgar Madison Welch to shoot up a pizza place only to find out it had no basement.

Captain - I re-wound and listened to your "rant" session at the end of episode 4 at least 3 times (starting at about 13:10 left in the podcast). It is such a terrible, horrific story that has so many layers, and I totally understand where you were coming from. I loved the reference to Fahmy Malak and the dog crawling up his ass. You cracked me up!I feel your anger and frustration so thank you for sharing it with me :)

I believe that according to Robert Tosh Plumlee, on FB, that Clinton was heavily involved with the CIA in drug running at Mina airport. Plumlee was one of the pilots and has talked about it. Also, the Captain is absolutely right about Pedogate. It first got notice from Podesta emails on Wikileaks and since then researchers have uncovered a lot of real evidence to suggest child sex trafficking is huge.

The ranting about Clinton left me feeling a bit cold about this episode and the podcast in general. We have no way of knowing how credible the Captain's supposed dirt is on Clinton, and he didn't go into much detail on it, so I'm at a loss for why it was even brought up. If you don't want this to be a political podcast, then don't make it one.

I thought the first two episodes of this were just great, best TCG may have ever done. The podcast was really reaching new heights lately, in part due to the Captain becoming more engaged with the material and not just acting as a comic foil to Nic's straight man. However, when episode 3 came along.... Was the research pulled from InfoWars? Were the soundbites in the Captain's trailer from an Alex Jones documentary? By the end of the episode I was expecting Vince Foster to be on the list of all the people killed over this case! The Mena airstrip as a drug drop that benefitted the CIA, IRS, Clintons, Bushes, and probably FEMA, the Council on Foreign Relations, and U.N. (or any target of the far right) is a debunked conspiracy. Just look at the sites that come up when you google it. I've lived in western Arkansas. Does anyone think that people in a place where Fahmy Malak gets to be medical examiner has the wherewithal to manage a vast drug (and child sex trafficking if you start going further down the rabbit hole of crazy) network? Malak's incompetence and that of the cops isn't unusual in a place like Mena, it's typical. If I wanted political conspiracies in my true crime podcasts, I'll listen to Last Podcast on the Left, where they will be treated with the ridicule and humor they deserve.

I really enjoyed this episode. I was confused about a comment you made about the Unsolved Mysteries episode. You had said that there is a difference between camouflage and military fatigues. Where I live people where military fatigues all the time as casual clothes. Also, wouldn't it be easy to mistake military fatigues and camouflage?? Additionally, I'm not on the Left or the Right. Legalize drugs and this would never happen!!

For the people questioning the pedo stuff you tube conspiracy of silence (never official released so its rough cuts, but while it may not be fire its heavy smoke) then stop back and apologize. Was kind of suprised it wasn't mentioned int he Johnny G case. My only issue with all of this is the mispronunciation of Medellín cartel. Its like you've never heard of Pablo Escobar its pronounced meh deh jEEn. Good episode overall.

My only issue with all of this is the mispronunciation of Medellín cartel. Its like you've never heard of Pablo Escobar its pronounced meh deh jEEn. Good episode overall.

Just finished up part 4. This was a great story, and one I had not heard. As a true-crime fanatic, that's kind of rare. I enjoy the music, and the chat. Change is good. Not too much. Listening to the recap of the whole episode I could not help but think about Breaking Bad. One little turn in the wrong direction, even for the most noble of reasons, can escalate faster than you can imagine, and the next thing you know, disaster. Moral of the story: color between the lines any time you can. also... the author/judge is Jeanine Pirro... pronounced like "PEER-oh" keep up the good shows.

Nicholas - love ya bro! You've been on here almost since the beginning. Yes that statement is confusing. I hope this can clear it up. Many accounts state a man in a camouflage jacket and then some state a man wearing military fatigues. The camouflage jacket would just be someone buying an old amy shirt or jacket from the army surplus store. The military fatigues the guy is outfitted head to toe in military style uniform. To me as someone that wore camo casually that's quite a big difference. I have a hard time with eyewitness statements when they disagree to this extent. Plus this is a crime in an area where I don't give creditably easily. I do however trust the statements of the dead, locked up or gone as I see the consequences of their statements. Cheers, Nic

Wow! What an intense web of corruption! You guys did a great job at making sure you explained and recapped all of the players as you progressed. I believe that government, even starting with municipalities, can be so tainted by greed it's scary! I'd like to see you guys dive into Linda Greene/Allen Ross! I always look forward to the next podcast and send the link to all of my friends. Captain and Nic...you're some of the best out there and definitely one of my favs! I like your jibs...

Wow, crazy amount of info and details guys, great job! I've lived just outside of Little Rock for 11 years now and I've heard whispers about this case for years.... and other things too. Arkansas is a messed up, good 'ol boys type of place... I can easily imagine this mess in 1987. I find it immensely interesting that they're still not releasing information on the case after all of these years. This alone helps people make up their minds that shadiness is afoot. I did some searching and I hadn't realized that the approximate location on the tracks is only about 3.35 miles from my house....

So much local corruption in this case. Now this case is where there is a conspiracy, take note conspiracy theorists! It's a shame there wasn't any serious oversight over the ME. Malak blaming their deaths on marijuana- my god. He's either incompetent or malicious and neither is a good place to be for his position. However, your assertions that Clinton may have been involved (a popular sentiment in politically motivated conspiracy theories nowadays) in the criminal conspiracy is likely wrong- there are more logical ideas that he didn't want to step on the toes of a lower level gov't official OR there is a theory that Malak's testimony helped Clinton's mother avoid a ruling against her in a medical malpractice lawsuit. I hope that the criminal cops and various thugs involved in this operation find their karma and end up in a wet ditch or a dank cell like the main man Harmon. There is one point where I disagree with your conclusions about this case and that is the reasoning for the boys being out that night. In my opinion, the boys were out to nab this drop or part of it that night. It was apparent to me that this drug drop time and location was the worst kept secret in Arkansas. This isn't surprising considering how sloppy their abduction and murder of the boys were. These criminals were incompetent as fuck and the teens caught wind of this opportunity and went out that night to grab it before anyone else did. Obviously it doesn't mean they deserved to be murdered, but I think it would explain motive better than anything else. Great Coverage, guys. Keep it up! -R

This was one of my favorite episodes so far. That whole town is fucked up! Just boggled my mind how everyone who was part of this came up dead. And that Medical Examiner, I have no words. I feel so bad for the families who never truly got closure due to his incompetence. But I will say, the captain's commentary, especially on episode 3, was so hilarious. I laughed out loud at my desk at work several times listening to that episode. Cheers! P.S. Is anyone else terrified of being diagnosed with an ulcer now?!

I have lived in Arkansas my entire life and grew up within 5-7 miles from where Don and Kevin were murdered. I have been waiting for YEARS for coverage like what yall have done on this case. I don't believe that justice will ever be 100% handed down for Don, Kevin and the rest of the people that were murdered as a result (either direct or indirect) of thier deaths, but I do believe that we get one step closer when awareness is brought to this case. Even in May 2017, this case is still very taboo to talk about here in central Arkansas. Thank you so much for your in-depth coverage. Thank you for bringing awareness to their case (as well as touching on the deaths of everyone else). I know that yall's work on this case is greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry, but you lost your credibility with this one. Republicans have been trying to destroy the Clintons for years, sometimes manufacturing scandals and occasionally finding real ones . Bill Clinton is alot of things, but if he was also a drug dealer, Republican operatives would have found this long before you two. And just to be clear - this is about credibility, not politics. For me, Sword and Scale lost its credibility as early as episode 5 with the Johnny Gosch story and it implicated all kinds of Republicans. My confirmation bias would love to believe it, but I would have to start wearing a tinfoil hat, and my skin just doesn't look that great with metallics.

This was so interesting! It totally caught me off guard, I had never heard of any of this. I would like to see you cover the Leonard Peltier case, it's always intrigued me. Ed Kemper and Carl Panzram would be other good ones. Also, I bought a few of your old episodes but the download link didn't work. I'm not worried about, just considered it a donation. But if others have had this problem you might want to look into a fix. Cheers

My husband drives a freight train for a living. Several years ago, he hit and killed an elderly woman suffering from dementia who parked her car on the tracks for some reason. The trauma it did to her car and body was horrible. You're talking about being hit with 10,000 tons of steel going 35 miles an hour (when he hit her). There's no way to stop a train on that short of notice. It takes a minimum 1/2 a mile to a mile to stop that train. The trauma and anxiety it left him with was horrendous. He had nightmares for years afterwards, even though it wasn't his fault. I'm truly surprised they found a torso under the train. The damage done to anything a train hits is massive and instantaneous. Usually there is nothing left of animals and such that they hit. Such a sad way to end a life.

Today when there is a train accident, the railroad police, sometimes Homeland security, and then the local police investigate. Local police don't normally investigate by themselves anymore.

This was an awesome episode. My mother-in-law and myself are newer listeners. Upon listening to this episode, she began to tell me that at the boom of the drug business in Arkansas, some people she went to school with and elders were turning up murdered or severely injured. (She being an Arkansas native and living in AR at a large part of this time) She explained that one man she graduated with was shot in the throat but lived. No explanation of who had shot him and he proceeded to live life without explanation. She said that also, when she would call her mother on the phone and try to ask about the crime around Arkansas, her mother would stop her and say that she did not feel safe talking on the phone about what was going on. Apparently quite a bit of locals knew what was going on but they were very scared to do much. Not too mention, many citizens believe Clinton had very much to do with the drugs behind the scenes. Very interesting and you guys did such an awesome job with this podcast! My mother-in-law and I enjoy every minute of it!

I'm late to the party but have been listening to every episode. I wish I didn't listen to this one. It was insanely interesting but I'm so fucking mad at so many of these characters I don't know how u guys kept your cool. Calling the lawyer a bad hombre.... I think he is worse than most of these serial killers. Cold calculating sending people to prison for years for a cover up and never having conscious kick in. The fact that nothing is happening to so many of these people, the Sherrifs, the prosecuter, the M.E. and even Clinton makes me lose all faith in this country. I wish the FBI would have put down on this whole city :(

The problem with this podcast was you guys relied heavily on political propaganda that had been outright contrived by Clinton haters in the 1980s and 1990s. Much of the information was downright deceptive. Not saying you guys were, but the information you were getting had a political motivation. and much of it had been dismissed at the time.
