SON OF SAM ////// 21

SON OF SAM

Description:
The summer of 76 unleashed a monster onto the streets of New York City. There was a mad man lurking in the shadows, thirsty for the blood of young women. Dubbed the 44 caliber killer due to his weapon of choice, this crazed killer openly threatened police & the women of New York City & gave himself a new name, the Son of Sam. Grab a couple of cold ones but make sure to leave the garage lights on cause this story gets dark, real dark!

Beer:
Yonkers Brewing Company's Vienna Lager - 3 1/4 bottle caps
This anytime beer is easy drinking. Copper in color, Vienna lager is balanced featuring both rich malt character & refreshing hop presence. Enjoy one or three responsibly today.

All things James Renner! We have four of James' books featured on our recommended page. His two very in depth True Crime books "Amy, my search for her killer" and "The serial killer's apprentice" and his two fantastically creative fiction books "The man from primrose lane" and " The great forgetting."
James joined us last week in the Sonic Lounge Studios to discuss several of the cases that he has spent years investigating. Thank you to James and we look forward to releasing those shows! Dive into the world of Renner by picking up any of these amazingly intriguing books.

Born and raised in NYC. My mother actually cut her hair in the 70's as a result of the fear Berkowitz instilled in the city. I enjoyed the podcast and discovered many new and interesting facts post prosecution that I was unfamiliar with. I believe John Douglas also stated that the "dog theory" was refuted by Berkowitz and that the real impetus for his crime was a hatred of women. Fun Fact- The officer who issued Berkowitz's vehicle that parking ticket was quickly promoted to Detective ! Observation - The Captain stated that he does not like people who use fake identities when he himself uses one :) ! Great opening for season two fellas, I look forward to the ones that follow. You guys familiar with the EAR/ONS case from California in the 1970's? Would make a great pod cast as he was never caught. FYI

Love the podcast, especially the Amy Mihaljevic episode and this Son of Sam episode. Audio quality is great, you've obviously done your research, and you keep it engaging. P.S. If you think New York is huge, you should visit Tokyo. It's massive, and it's amazing.

I stumbled across this podcast on accidentally and am now addicted to it!!! I took a serial murders class and we profiled the son of Sam; but you two dug even deeper and I found out so much more. Thank you, you guys rock!!! Someday you'll have to do an episode in the microbrew Capitol of the United States, Bend, Oregon.
