Law enforcement is very aware that they have a very violent and deadly criminal at large and he is using the mall parking lot to trap his victims but are they dealing with a serial killer? As I was listening to your podcast the other day, I had a thought: what if this suspect was 'evolving'? Is it not possible that the first lady he killed was his first victim, and he didn't really plan it well, and thought he could get money out of her. Since she didn't have an ATM card, things went sideways and he killed her. Which he may have planned on doing from the start. With the second case, he changed his MO...chose a more vulnerable victim. A woman with a child. She pleaded her case and he let her go. She ignored his instructions, about not telling the police what he looked like, so with the third case, I would assume he was not going to fall again for the same trick: the pleading and humanising of the victims. Hence he killed them both. If we were to presume that all 3 cases are linked, I have the thought of him evolving with each incidence. Is it possible that he commits the same type of crime in other areas? That might explain the long period of time in between the cases.

I love, love, LOVE you guys BUT ----- I wanted to comment on the Black Dahlia episodes............. Couldn't locate the right spot to post this under Black Dahlia episode so I'm putting here in another location.. Here goes. Your guest was all over the place, hard to follow the details, and left me nodding off. I could not finish either of them. CONTRARY TO when you two narrate the show (as well as other guests) you follow an understandable sequence in the dialogue. I rarely complain and appreciate all efforts made. Just want you to know, I have listened to all of your episodes, some more than once. I could not understand this guest/guy, very confusing content, seemed to have no outline which would allow us regular folks to follow along. Sorry, it was painful to my mind and I just could not finish those talks. On the OTHER hand, let the river run. I'm a big fan. Maybe some others could follow along. i could not. You got the picture. Hugs, Smooches, and very best to you both. Adrian

Adrian, Thank you for the feedback. I very much enjoyed talking with Mark and I may have got him off track on more than one occasion but he was able to point out a very strong suspect in this case that no one has wrote about and there have been many books. I'm new to the interviewing process so I have to respectfully give you a "my bad." Cheers Nic

Good episode guys. Very informative. I had seen some stuff on this case but this added some additional interesting information. Two of the cases are connected for sure. Why the guy chooses this method of abduction and robbery I don't know. It's definitely risky. I have been to Town Center Mall many times. The Boca Raton area is very wealthy. Valet parking at the mall with a bunch of six figure cars and it's crawling with people and a decent security presence albeit Mall security and not police. Also you are taking a risk being in the car with them and going to the bank. Someone who has a drug problem is an option. Not thinking so clearly and desperate for a fix this may make sense to him. As crazy as it is he has gotten away with it twice so it is decently planned which sounds like a lot planning for a drug addict. Usually they would do a smash and grab job. I definitely think there is a power component to it. I also think he may have something against Rich Florida people especially women. You mentioned it looks like a landscaper hat. He could be a landscaper who deals with rich clients all the time and has to obey them. This could give him that feel of power over someone who usually tells him what to do. I think he was just a robber at first. I think he let the first couple go and trusted they wouldn't go to the police. I think when she did that enraged him and felt betrayed in his warped mind and next time we wasn't going to leave witnesses. I think he is from the area but not Boca Raton directly. Someone who knows the mall and the layout but doesn't live there. Miami Dade County would make sense. I'm guessing these cases and the exposure has scared him to not do this type of robbery again. I think he still could be robbing places just in a different manner. I'd checkout people arrested for robberies in the years after this case. As far as Randi it's a tough call if it's connected. I'm thinking it's not which is crazy that there is two loony people out there. I have read online and also seen on TV shows that she had a lot of issues with her ex husband. He is a total dirt ball and has friends in low places. I could see him for financial reasons putting a hit on her. I think that's a good possibility

I think all 3 crimes were committed by the same person. I think the first crime was spontaneous and basically unplanned. I think he panicked and killed her when she didn't have an ATM card. then there is a big gap before we have the next crime with the same MO. my theory is this is due to our suspect being in jail most likely on drug charges. I think this because he is not getting much money from these individuals so it fits with a desperation crime. Also we have a long gap between crimes 1 and 2 but a short gap between crimes 2 and 3. I think the crimes sort of escalated, I don't think killing the first and second victims was part of the plan. However I think the third victims were planned because the second mom gave info to the police. I think he picked a random spot for the first crime and went back to the same spot because he didn't get caught there the first time.

Hopefully this guy has overdosed. These seem like very desperate crimes, most likely an addict Nic

I think the single lady attack was connected. I think it was his first attack of this kind.He learned what did not work. Now he knows what works. He'll return. He may be in jail.
