Great interview Captain, and very unsettling story. I'm sure a lot of us have been out for a few drinks and been in an unfamiliar location, it's scary to think of what might of happened with Tyler. I'd be interested to know if police have found any other CCTV footage from surrounding businesses from that morning. I'd imagine that it would be easier to identify Tyler with it being around 4am. Also looking at google maps of the area there is a big body of water (Scioto Rover) with several bridges and entry ways. There are also industrial looking areas (Abbott Nutrition) and large car parks as well as what looks like freeways/highways. All areas you don't want to run into the wrong person at 4am.

I just want to thank you guys for the hard work you do every week. I feel like I've seen a lot of negativity in the last few episodes, and directed at this young lady as well. I actually had laid off this podcast and binged all the episodes I had last week. You guys provide the best weekly true crime coverage in my opinion, and I am appreciative of the hard work and effort.

This story seems like it should be on an AM radio station in Columbus, seems like locals could offer possible help. Not sure why you chose it for a national posting. Also, the audio on the phone call was terrible, in need of a sound engineer. As to the story, I find it very odd that she went into panic mode so quickly, I mean way too quickly. Under similar circumstances I am taking a shower and watching a little TV before I am panicking like this. She is literally freaking out after a few minutes. That is is bizarre to me. More bizarre would be why her overweight husband decides to take a mystery walk in that situation.

I would definitively go into panic mode if my husband took off in a strange place at that hour! What seems weird to me is how she said he acted when he woke up in the Uber, I know I have been in that situation before & all I want to do is get in the room and go to bed. And what the hell does being overweight have anything to do with it !? Great show this week Guys!

If his phone tracked to Abbott Labs, there is a wooded area very close, at the corner of Mccutcheon and Stelzer Rd. I wonder if the police have searched that area.

Nothing for nothing, but what couple goes to strip clubs to get drunk with another guy friend while their young kid is being babysat? That just makes this whole incident weird. And the chick is going on about what kind of alcohol her husband likes, telling us he had been into Tito's lately. What!? How is that relevant to anything? I think there is a lot of weirdness that we don't know. And I apologize for not knowing his weight, but the audio was so terrible, I just heard her saying he was soft in the middle and not in shape.

There is a great deal of important information missing here, particularly the story of the mystery "friend." There are also significant gaps and implausibilities. It's important to note that initially, Ms. Davis did not mention the trip to the strip club, saying that they took a 3AM Uber from one end of Easton to the Hilton (a walk of 15 minutes at most). Based on a multitude of similar cases, the most probable scenario is that Ms. Davis and/or the "friend" were involved in the accidental or intentional death of Davis, hid the body far from Easton, and are prevaricating.

Do we know if the police have gone down the "hit and run" avenue?  Let's say he is walking home and he really can see the hotel from where is was and he is struck by a car.  Maybe the driver is drunk themselves, panics, and takes his body somewhere near Abbott Labs, and that's why his phone is tracked somewhere near there.  I don't know if someone who is exhausted and/or drunk could make it that far, through the woods, alone.  There is an alarming amount of people that were listed as missing for months, sometimes years, that were the unfortunate victim of a hit and run.

Thats a good angle Megan - I'm sure that has been explored during the official searches for Tyler in the area as well as searching the local businesses for surveillance footage. It's still a very likely possibility cheers Nic

I don't drink, but she said they each had about 7-10 drinks, and he was drinking straight shots. Isn't that a LOT of alcohol to drink in just a few hours? He sounds like he was really drunk and confused, and it was below freezing that night. Maybe he got turned around and thought he was seeing the hotel but he was really looking at a different building. Maybe he passed out somewhere and froze to death and they just never found his body because it actually was in a wooded area away from the hotel.

Forgive this long post. Columbus police are awful with missing people, it's shameful in my opinion. They give people time to end up covering up crimes searching, bringing sniffer dogs, or doing anything at all from a police standpoint would be good, but they do nothing but belittle those who place reports. I know of 5 cases of men in the Columbus area who have seemingly disappeared all involving alcohol. Another man of similar description I know personally went missing and the police where the same way. I am wondering if there could be a connection. Sad case. I have theories but I feel the friend or left out persons info could really be helpful. Hearing from strippers, the bouncer, Uber driver, bar tender, the friend, anyone who can atest to how they where all acting.  CCTV from local businesses or the condos surveillance. Maybe while all drinking she missed a small detail they caught. Also that amount of alcohol he could have blacked out or been in a partial dream state, but it sounds like he was belligerently drunk. I would not have let my husband go anywhere after that Uber drive. I get she's his wife not his mom but saying this is not where we are supposed to be is odd, very odd behavior. I guess my husband and I have a different sort of relationship but I don't care what a friend says not leaving him alone. And why would his friend leave him alone. 3 drunk, people bad idea.  Idk something is odd. This seems like a hit and run or he mistook another building while drunk for the hotel and ended up surcumb to elements. Or he planned to disapeare and the friend knew it idk. Poor girl. Some details don't add up, her phone almost dying but magically being charged enough to not die, when they split up he had one key and the friend had the other?  The first time before the call around 3:40 and 4:10 how did she get into the room?  She mentioned the friend having a key and Tyler when they where out together yet she was in the room charging her phone the first time? Did she just misspeak?  Then her saying I am the one who runs away, not him? Freaking out immediately even when the friend is still with him, but not calling the police? But the friend not freaking out at all, not even sticking around to make sure your friend is safe? Originally he was going to stay with them, even had a room key, and now he suddenly decides not to and to go home? Sid the friend drive or take an uber? Could he have picked Tyler up? Saying Tyler is not an outdoorsy guy but having what looks like hunting pics on facebook? Saying Tyler has no numbers memorized but he is brainy and plays video games? Most video game guys can remember numbers. I know of 3 cases of men in the Columbus area who have seemingly disappeared all involving alcohol. I am wondering if there could be a connection. Sad case. How far could he have gotten in that short amount of time? Then her saying I am the one who runs away usually, not him? Freaking out immediately even when the friend is still with him, but not calling the police? But the friend not freaking out at all, not even sticking around to make sure your friend is safe? She seems way to trusting of this friend. Rethink this friends actions and story girl, it is sketchy. Most video game guys can remember numbers and codes. Suppenoing the phone records, can't the family sign the record over without a suppeno needed? Her not checking his social media even though she thought she knew his password, I get the detectives saying not to, but with the way the detectives where acting, I would have pushed letting me check it. She may not be a cryer but I would be more emotional. With Columbus the further he traveled in Easton or near Abbot the less safe he was. Confused on the router thing saying they want to use the apple ID but earlier saying a friend told her she could use the gmail from his galexy? Not sure what sort of phone he actually has? Then her being on edge about her belongings on him? Maybe it was because if someone had him they would have her address, but my ID would be my last thought in her shoes.

Do we know if any vehicles are under suspicion in connection with his disappearance? I assume the Hilton parking lot would've been pretty crowded to narrow in on any one vehicle, but I haven't been able to locate any articles stating surveillance and security footage has been reviewed so I'm wondering if a vehicle is something possibly being held back.

@ All I believe Tyler was drinking either vodka on the rocks or a small vodka mixed drink on the rocks. The drinks he was consuming were typical drinks for Tyler per Brittany's statement. Regarding the camera footage at the Hilton - there is some that police have this is in relationship to the drop off area in front of the lobby and would be from when they returned to the hotel via Uber. I can't say for certain what is on this camera footage - police are not saying everything. Nic

mG , PW, MeB are assholes. Megan has a really good point. C is correct about Columbus Police , but for gods sakes what an idiotic rant. I lived in that area before Easton was built. I was in that area while Easton was being built. People don’t realize that even tho it looks “city” there is a lot of wooded, secluded area. I have drank like hell in that area and walked around. I also got into an argument with my husband while staying at the same hotel and walked that area. Didn’t see him til the next day. His wife did nothing wrong. Wrong place wrong time. She did NOTHING wrong.

The suspicion against the wife or friend is nonsense, there’s no motive, simple as that. There’s only three logical explanations in my mind: 1) someone took him for something: gang related kidnapping and murder, human “trafficking” but since it’s a 29 year old male we’re talking more kidnap, and continuous rape until murder (pulp fiction type shit). Or someone could have taken him for some really sick torture killing, (you never know.) 2) he died, and his body has not been found. This isn’t impossible but I don’t find it likely, Tyler couldn’t of been “that” drunk. I’m a lot smaller and have had nights exactly like his, and unless he had a terrible accident, I find this unlikely. 3) this is my far out theory that has logic; Could Tyler have ran into the Bouncer from the StripClub, a fight ensued, bouncer accidentally kills Tyler, gets rid of the body, yet to be found. Look the chances of them running into each other at that hour in public is highly unlikely; but both work late nights and are used to being up that late and it’s not wrong to presume the bouncer could have lived near the area Tyler was, in Easton. Overall something happened to Tyler. In my mind, there isn’t being enough done to do a proper search, probably because he’s a 29 year old white male and not a 6 year old. The possibility of Tyler being fully human trafficked to per say Europe or South America, is just highly unlikely in my opinion. Could he be in some fucked up basement with several men his age all kidnapped and some sort of sick game or event occurs? Yeah I mean anything is literally possible. What makes me believe he was kidnapped was because absolutely none of his belongings have been found. When someone gets murdered rarely is nothing found whatsoever, especially if it happens in public, even if the body is taken. I hope Tyler is found.

Likely, They would have found his body by now. C has some interesting points but not all of them are reasonable or logical. You’re drunk. Your irritated with your wife and friend. What was the dispute about at the strip club? Why were they ordered to leave? What does the Uber driver have to say? Does MRS. Davis’ statements corroborate their statement? I don’t think that Tyler’s wife’s story is implausible. Tyler is a grown man. He needed his space. He’s drunk, possibly drugged:irrational. But I know my own husband and father of my children. I would know if something wasn’t right. So don’t bullshit me and tell me she freaked out too early or acted strangely. Everyone reacts differently to trama. Look at just the facts. Not speculation.

What an odd story. It doesn't help the fact that this girl is so calm and casual about this and uses phrases the average Gen Z kids use. "like whatever" and "you know" and "seriously". Geeze, grow up. I never heard her say she actually loves him, misses him, etc... Must have an odd marriage. Probably too many videogames and social media using. Completely opposite of my family. Anyways, I dont think she is involved. I think Matt from NY has some good theories. Dude probably got drunk, passed out somewhere, and died. Sad but true.

Interesting but the audio wasn't good. The wife and friend need closer checking. Are they 'together 'before or now?

I work at Abbott and there is a pond and a wooded area with another pond. Have these been searched?

At Jenna - I hope so but the police were not specific with us on where they have searched. Per their words that area was searched. Nic

There was a body found near Rarig Ave, which is ~4 miles from where he was last seen, on June 3rd. There hasn't been any updates other than a body was found. Is there a way to find out more info about this from the local Police?

Drunk and belligerent Tyler starts feeling like the third wheel. Drunk and confrontational. Probly swung on the friend and got whooped. Hard tellin what happened after that. Seems plausible considering that the wife sounds Suspicious af.

Was the uber driver questioned? Did they track his drive and "rides" after the three left the car? Not saying he was involved. Just wondering if they checked into a possible lead/witness.

A sad situation and an odd case, given that no body has been discovered. The argument, disagreement, friction, or whatever it was when the threesome reached the Hilton doesn't entirely add up in my mind as described. Brittany stated in the interview that she believed her husband was primarily tired as opposed to having passed out in the Uber from intoxication. It sounds as though, however, that they had trouble rousing him and getting him out of the vehicle, so much so that she stated that she believed the driver was irritated. She said their arrival time was 3:19 AM but it seems it took many minutes to get Tyler out of the Uber, and that she had to grab onto his arm. I think he was likely extremely intoxicated. Brittany estimated he had seven alcoholic drinks by my count, and my belief is that folks tend to underestimate their alcohol consumption in such circumstances. His drinks were apparently consumed without any food, and he had already been belligerent at the strip club as it was closing, arguing with a bouncer. He sounds as though he was irrationally argumentative as very intoxicated folks can be. It's a shame that a guy in such a state was allowed to wander off. I think this was likely an accidental death, and that the body simply hasn't been located. Snatching a 29-year-old male as part of human trafficking in the Midwest seems extremely unlikely; it's typically the young and vulnerable who are victimized in this way..
