Brice Rhodes /// 489 /// 490

www.TrueCrimeGarage.com

Brice Rhodes has been a major thorn in the side of the Kentucky Courts for the last five years. He is accused of three homicides. All three cases were quickly and easily linked to Brice as the perpetrator with a mountain of evidence against him in all three cases. But he is yet to be convicted. This week we review the crimes and the investigation that made the arrest and try to understand why this loser is not currently scheduled for his date with a lethal injection.

The Captain thinks that the mother shouldn't be held to full account because the two fathers were absent from the boys life's , but that's crap she totally failed them and I bet she was thinking my sons are so cool look at my bad boys that is until that way of life ended thiers, yep mother of the year . I also think if the fathers were around nothing would be any different im sure they're not in the running for citizen of the year either.

Fathers should be there to help, yes. But their absence is not a get out of jail free car for the moms left holding the bag. It means the moms need to work harder. I am a single mom. First of 3 kids, for about 6.5 years after my divorce until I remarried. And now of 5 children for the past couple of years. Not a single child of mine rides around with adults, stays out all night, or is aspiring to a life of crime, with or without my support. I am tired all of the time, work from sunrise to sun down, will never be a wealthy woman....but that's part of the gig as a single mom. Kids still come first. You fight or them and you provide and you make darn sure they have better than what you did. This isn't an absent father story. This is a terrible mom story. Maybe she regrets it now that her boys are gone and maybe that spurs her on to make better choice for any other children she has or may have. But that's bout the best outcome that can come out of this tragedy :( And also, my oldest son is taller than me. And I stand on a chair to check him when I need to. I am still the mama and I still deserve respect no matter how big they get. And that's something that is taught young and earned continuously. Disrespectful children is a reflection on the parents, not the kids. This case is sad because these young lives were worth so much more than what happened to them. They lacked guidance plain and simple and the price that was paid was their lives and their potential.

15:50 "My sons were trying to earn stripes in the Bloods gang, and they had to put in work." Uhh... I don't even know how to respond to that. Everyone knows that putting in work doesn't mean washing the gang boss's car, picking up his suits from the dry cleaners, or painting his fence. It means committing crimes on behalf of the gang and proving that you can be an earner or a violent enforcer. I'm just kind of mind-blown that a mother would know and apparently be okay with it, much less come out publicly and say something like this.

I work in a prison in KY and I agree with Captain as far as him saying that another inmate would take action into his own hands. Rhodes would run his mouth to the wrong inmate and wouldn't last very long. I don't agree with him saying that an officer would look the other way. We take inmate safety very seriously and I highly doubt anyone in the Department of Corrections would allow that to happen. At least anyone I work with. Anyway, that's just my two cents.

Hi! Long-time listener, a first-time commenter here! I have mixed feelings about this case. In my job, I often have encounters w/ parents much like the victims'. Single moms who failed to set clear boundaries while their children were young. By the time the kids are teenagers, they have no respect for authority (because they've been allowed to do whatever they want with no consequences for their actions). It's a sad outcome for all involved; however, it's what happens when you play stupid games.

Sounds like he's taking a page out of Charles Ng's book. That p.o.s. stalled for years, went through like 10 attorneys, and ended up costing Califirnia the most expensive trial in it's history. Yeah, he's probably trying to delay the death penalty, but also trying to stave off prison. Until he's convicted, he's still being kept at the local lockup. His antics that he pulls in jail aren't going to fly in prison. He'd probably be dead already.

So this POS grooms children and beats up women? How do we organise some "prison justice" for this creep?

Thanks to all who have posted here. When we saw this loser on the news months ago we knew we had to cover the cases. Three people lost their lives because this guy is a psychotic idiot. If Brice Rhodes had a thought it would die of loneliness. And all of you are right he will get his in prison. I've seen this movie before... He'll finally get to prison, he will very quickly "gang up" but as soon as his gang needs someone to take the fall they will sacrifice him to bigger wolves. Days are numbered and he knows it! Nic

Just watched a few videos of this twerp. What a little wanna be. This judge must either be the most patient man to walk the earth or is on major chill pills to deal with that human garbage can every time so patiently. Going to be fun watching the video of the judge at the sentencing to see if he keeps his composure! Keep up the good work guys!

I almost didn't listen to this episode because I could barely suffer through that...phone call. Some on the fb group actually thought that was the opening music and that Capt/Nic had taken leave of their senses.

@ Yes we wanted to make sure we presented this jerk in the correct light right from the jump. His "jail house phone rap" was a great way for you to hear it from him first. I'm just hoping his "rap" does not get a bunch of hits now because of the show. The REAL FUN is just like everyone is saying - watch the court room videos. Because the whole time I'm watching I just smile knowing this P.O.S. will very soon be getting exactly what he deserves and frankly has been asking for. Cheers Nic

You are exactly right, Nic. He's just delaying the inevitable. Excruciating for the victims families, thought, I'm sure. And I'm pretty confident his "music" isn't going to take off anytime soon. What a douche.

Thanks for the cool chats. Please fix the website: add a search button; separate episodes in years and add links to the years. Currently it is impossible to know which episode is on JonBenet or to scroll through 10 pages to find a specific episode. You’re my first love of True Crime podcasts. Cheers Mates

This guy has to be the dumbest person TCG has ever covered. I'm guessing he didn't go to school past 6th grade and his IQ is incredibly low. I also agree with the Captain that he is very likely a pedo that was grooming those two little boys.

This episode seemed like low-hanging fruit. The man will have a trial, be sentenced and eventually put to death. So are you angry that he’s acting like a piece of crap? Of course he is- he is a piece of crap. His victims are known and will get justice. This episode veered way to far into the endless debate on how to parent children. Well I expect vitriol and hatred to be unleashed on me because I didn’t automatically agree with the group. Nic and the Captain are free to say whatever they want, that’s their right. And my right is to unsubscribe if there are too many more episodes on how to best parent children:

Hi Mn13, The episode was low hanging fruit, you are right. It was a case that we saw and wanted to cover. But you're right there is no real mystery here and we do know how things will work out eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later. But I saw a situation where 3 individuals lost their lives for no reason at all and wanted to highlight that. I enjoy reviewing all different kinds of homicide cases as I think there is a lot to learn and gain from each and how the investigations unfold and what works and doesn't. As for the parenting stuff - that was completely unintentional and came up organically but it sounds like we stayed on it far too long. We know that the TCG audience knows how to parent so it wasn't't meant for you and we should have got away from that much sooner. Sometimes we get angry at these things and we end up venting a little too long. Thanks for listening and the post, cheers! Nic

the reason people dont get arrested for choking & punching their moms is because of dudes like you two, making the facts so trivial that you simply cant make up you minds. its because of you.
