Well, it seems some in the garage are dreaming of warmer weather and sticking with Florida :) I lived in Sarasota as a kid and can't believe I never heard of this case. Then when I heard Labor Day 2017, I know why, Hurricane Irma took up my entire life during this time, and went thru my first category 3 hurricane. There was a lot of destruction, especially interior counties like Polk, Hardee, Desoto, and this probably dominated the news at that time, not to mention we had no power and it was HOT!!!!!! Hearing his mom's name Span, made me wonder if related to Denard Span the baseball player who was from Tampa, but I don't think they are. I do wonder what the hurricane may have done to any evidence, or his phone, if it was in a wooded area maybe they didn't find it cause of the storm. This is so sad, him being born in such terrible circumstances, and being a really good kid and all, and sad for his grandma to lose her grandson after losing so much already. PS I know you guys may not think it is cold, but it is really cold for us Floridians today, temps we are not used to and the wind, not sure how you guys do it in Columbus. Much prefer our humid, hot Florida Life over cold.

Loved the Mahomes shout out in the opening of episode 2! We are psyyyyyyyched in KC! Love your podcast, you guys are my absolute favorite! When you listen/read/watch so much true crime, it's rare to hear stories that you are not already familiar with, but you guys manage to cover cases I have never heard of. Thanks for all the hard work that goes into this awesome podcast! GO CHIEFS!!

Thank you all for listening to these two episodes and posting on the blog. I’m very proud of many of our shows but especially these last two. This is a case and really two cases that could get cold if there is not movement on either of these. It was truly time to stir the pot. I hope and pray that the Sarasota PD get some tips on either/both of these cases. Thank you to all of the people and investigators that spoke with us and help us to put this story together. Cheers Nic

This is incredibly sad and heart breaking. As a mother of young men, I am sick. I am hoping this show will solve both of these murders.

Hope they break the case for Jabez and Travis, but also I’m going to bend the rules a bit and offer a silly comment re: the latest Off the Record: maybe they know the belt in LISK case doesn’t belong to any of the victims because it’s too big!

The three thugs are looking at capital murder, that is the needle in Florida. You better believe they will go mad dog to save their asses. Local residents can count, two dead already. Nobody is talking.

I live in Florida and am genuinely touched to learn that the police have been communicating frequently with the family (and vice-versa) as well doing everything possible to solve this case (or cases). Too often, minorities are given the cold shoulder by LE. This sounds like progress to me. Also, great job on the past two eps - the reporting and analysis were stellar! Jabez sounded like a great kid with lots of potential - I truly hope justice is served. Hearing about his mom broke my heart.

This was the most privileged review of a case y’all have ever done. A boy got killed for witnessing a murder because the police couldn’t do their job and get the murderer off the street ... and you want other boys to put themselves in the same position? Disgusting but typical.

This case bothers me to no end. This beautiful boy! Hoping something changes within this community's dynamics and his killer/s are brought to justice. RIP Jabez!

Of all your episodes I have listened to this one struck me, so incredibly sad. I truly hope this family gets justice.

Kelley this one hit me hard too. We got to speak with a private investigator and with Jabez's mother. This still unsolved case makes me very, very angry. Nic
